The Most Recent Minecraft Snapshot Adds 'Wither Boss', Baked Potatoes, And Invisibility Potions
The latest install-at-your-own-risk Minecraft update (snapshot "12w34a") is now available over at the official Mojang blog. After installation, there are many fundamental modifications to the way maps and nether portals function. There are also new items, items to create using these items, and probably the most adorable creature ever.
Dubbed the "Wither Boss," this new baddie is a three-headed floating with a torso that shoots explosions of skulls from each head. It doesn't appear like the creature is actually anywhere in game yet but the files are there, waiting to be hacked in should you have a certain kind of death wish (as as shown in the demonstration video above by Sethbling).
This update also includes potatoes and carrots. The former is a reagent to bake potatoes, and the latter is an essential ingredient in invisibility potions. The potion will make you invisibly to all creatures around you, but it will not alter your armor or other objects. It would be foolish to pour a baked potato over your head.
